There's even a mute button, should you want to watch the video but not hear it. If it's a video from YouTube, for example, you can play the video directly in the conversation. When you send links, they'll (almost) instantly be replaced with thumbnail previews. Then, tap on the Screen button at the top of the screen. Just write a message, then use Force Touch or long-press on the send button until the Bubble Effect screen is activated. For instance, if you're congratulating someone, you can make confetti rain all over their screen. Screen Effects are messages that take over the entire screen with an animation and sound. When the recipient(s) open the message, the animation will play and continue to play each time the conversation thread is opened until another message is sent. Effects can be used on text and photo messages. Once you find the effect you want, tap on the send button and away it goes. As you select each one, a preview will play. To preview and select a Bubble Effect, slide your finger across or tap on the circular button next to each effect. If that's not working for you, it's probably because you need to disable this display setting. To use a Bubble Effect, compose an iMessage and then force-touch on the blue up arrow (if you're on a non-3D Touch device, long-press on the send button). Invisible Ink: The message body is covered with a pixelated overlay, where in order to view what's hidden underneath, the recipient has to swipe his or her finger across the message.Gentle: Message body starts off small, really small, then ever-so-slowly it grows to regular size.Loud: Mimicking yelling at the person, the message body starts off huge, shakes a bit, then shrinks back to regular size.Slam: Message body slams into the conversation, with a puff of dust rising off the screen where it landed.

To update to the bug-fix release, simply go to Settings -> Software Update.Four bubble effects are currently available: For the iPhone 5, the consequences are much more severe. For those devices, not updating means that GPS features will stop working. The GPS bug will begin impacting Apple hardware like the iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPad with Retina Display, and the fourth-generation iPad just before midnight UTC time on November 3.

In that case, you will need to connect to a computer and restore with iTunes on a PC or Mac. If you miss that date, OTA updates and iCloud backup will no longer be possible as the phone will not be able to connect to the network. To keep the phone functioning normally, update to the latest iOS 10.3.4 update before November 3. This issue is specific to the iPhone 5, which was last sold in September 2013. However, the problem is even more serious for iPhone 5. This was necessary to help keep older iPhones and iPads maintain accurate location functionality as the GPS network goes through a time rollover transition.
You may remember that, back in July, Apple released rare bug-fix updates for older versions of its operating system: iOS 10.3.4 and iOS 9.3.6.
